Lake Nottely, GA- Areheart Vacation

Last week we went on vacation with the Areheart family to Lake Nottely, GA. We rented a beautiful house right on the lake which was perfect because it gave us a lot of activities without even leaving.  We did lots of fishing, boat riding, talking, reading, and taking care of babies. 

 

Ben was our awesome grill master.

The fire pit was a great addition to the house.  It was so fun making smores.  

Ben was very proud of his perfectly toasted marshmallows.

Cade turned five months old yesterday.  He is getting to a really fun stage where he is more interactive, although every stage is fun in its own way.   

We just noticed yesterday that his first tooth is coming through, so he is chewing on everything!  Why not chew on your toes?

6 Years of Marriage & Mother's Day

On May 12, we celebrated our 6 year anniversary and Mother's day.  It was such a special day for us!  Last year on May 12, we got to see little Cade for the first time.  Here he is last year: 

A lot has changed in one year: From a baby the size of a bean to this guy jumping around!  What a miracle of God!

Ben and I went to a nice dinner for our anniversary.  It was so special and so nice for just the two of us to go.  We are so thankful to our friends who babysat Cade.  On Mother's day, we went on a picnic all together.

Our garden

 Ben and I decided that we would try our first garden this year.  We planted some herbs in pots.  Here is our cilantro, parsley, basil and mint.

 The beginnings of our garden on the side of our house.  It has grown so much since I took this picture, and we planted 4 more plants in the open space.

We planted 4 tomato plants, 2 zucchini, 1 squash, 2 okra, 3 cucumbers, 1 yellow bell pepper, 1 cajun bell pepper.  Here is the first vegetable we spotted:  a tiny squash.....  It is so fun to see all these vegetables grow!
