Breckenridge

We decided to take a trip to Breckenridge last weekend because Ben had off for Veteran's Day and I always have Fridays off. It was a beautiful drive. Here are some of the pictures we took along the way.

Our first snow- October 7!!

I couldn't believe it when I woke up to a winter wonderland on October 7! I know, I guess I am still in denial that the winter season is really here and may last for 5-7 more months!! The snow didn't last long; it was melted by the next day, but I must admit, it was very pretty.

We got our second round of snow this past week. They were calling for up to 12 inches of snow, but I think we only ended up getting around 6 inches. This is a whole new world for a South Carolina girl like me!

A Weekend of Fall Fun

This past weekend, the dental squadron had a retreat at Farish, which is a military recreational resort. We got to enjoy the aspens changing colors, fun times by the campfire, smores, hiking, and hot chocolate!!

The residents cooked breakfast for everyone on Saturday.

The duplex we stayed in—Cougar Den!

The wedding ridge- Aimee, are you sure you don’t want to have a destination wedding in Colorado??

What we've been up to...

We have been having tons of fun in Colorado. Here are some of the things that have kept us busy...

Air Force football (and of course watching USC Gamecocks on TV)

Lots of hiking. This is North Cheyenne Park

I have been having fun with some DIY projects. I made a keys/scarf/coat hanger out of an old window...

I made a fall wreath for our front door

Monument Park

Ben wasn't ready for the timer...

Rocky Mountain National Park

Ben and I decided to take a day trip to Rocky Mountain National Park a couple of weeks ago. It did not disappoint. It was totally gorgeous, and there was so much to do. It is so amazing to see God’s creativity. We were able to see lots of wildlife, and this is a picture of Ben with a elk in the background.

We hiked almost 10 miles! This is the first "lake" that we hiked to. It was so pretty with the lily pads.

The lake from on top of the mountain.
Another beautiful lake. The water was so clear, you could see tons of trout swimming around. It motivated Ben to start fishing.
